I think this is an incredible product that has so many wonderful uses…
WEDDING GRAFFITI! Yes, they are vinyl letters, words and phrases that can be temporarily placed on walls, dance floors, church doors, alters… anywhere. So beautiful, useful and romantic. perfect product

As mentioned in an earlier post, the aislewalk team will be on the lookout for cool products and will be conducting reviews throughout the year to assist brides in getting their hands on the coolest stuff! Our first product is the PHOTO BOOTH. We are thrilled to be the first to have experienced the vintage photo booth by Auto Photo at our recent soiree. This thing is amazing! It was the hit of the party and brides in Vancouver now have the ability to get one here rather than from back east or from the US. The rental starts at around $1600. I had seen on a lot of forums that brides were at a loss trying to find one here….well girls…we found it for you! I would book early as I am sure it will be a hot item for 2007.

the annual soiree

I was hoping to wait until the pro pictures arrived so that I could put them up for everyone to see but I just had to post about the party and the 2007 issue which is finally out! The event was held at the Met which I have to say was the most amazing venue. James Sweeney was such a pleasure to work with and went so far above the call of duty it’s ridiculous!!!! In fact, the entire staff blew me away. We went with a 1940’s Hollywood theme complete with Hollywood martinis, jazz band, crystals galore…..oh yah and then there was the amazing photo booth that everyone had a kick out of.

With over 150 industry pros there, it was a little overwhelming for me but so great to see everyone out in support of our little publication. The Nelson Boshmann trio started off the night with a big band bang and I have to mention the stunning cake by Kerridan Cakes and the wow factor cupcakes by Cakewalk. Girls….you rock! Then there was Jeannette from Delovely Creative, who despite being extremely jetlagged after a long flight from China, managed to produce out of this world decor to set the tone. Can’t thank you enough for everything! Special thanks too, to Flower Factory for perfect centerpeices….I did just as you asked and took them home…my officer never looked so good! We even handed out our little awards to some of the vendors for their spectacular contributions to aislewalk and tantalizing treats from Barefoot Venus as a special thanks to all those who helped to make the event a success. I think we’ll have to make that part an annual event in itself.

It was so amazing to see familiar faces and meet so many new ones. I hope we see more of each other throughout wedding season. Now comes the fun part of getting the publication out there for the brides which wil happen over the next few weeks and we’ll be there with bells on at Wedding Fair to spread the aislewalk word.

Thanks to everyone for your kind emails and messages following the party and make sure to send over your photo strips! Would love to put them up for everyone…of course only the ones that you didn’t have to close the curtain for!

I promise to update the blog with the pro pics soon. Special thanks to Anita & Gina Photography for coming down to capture the event. Can’t wait to see all the great shots.

For anyone who hasn’t seen it yet… here is the 2007 cover…keep an eye out…

press time

We take our job seriously but let’s be real. 12 hours at the printers would drive anyone crazy! Rather than sit around we decided to have a little fun and pass the time between checks. Tim Hortons donuts in hand (to bribe the pressman to let us run around like kids in a candy store) we headed in to where it all happens and our 8 month project turns into the print version of aislewalk. I have to mention that WE LOVE OUR PRINTERS! They treated aislewalk like gold and I can’t say enough great stuff about them. A few more weeks and aislewalk 2007 will be out for all to see and thankfully Tammy and I will get a much needed break!

Our little work in progress!

aislewalk wins gold

We are simply giddy with excitement that the Vancouver Edition of aislewalk has won Gold at the International Gallery of Superb Printing in New York. We always knew we had something special with our little publication but to be recognized on an International stage is so cool! Considering that the aislewalk team is over the moon about the design and theme of the 2007 issue, we can’t wait to see what we win next.

Thanks to everyone for including us in their must have collection during their wedding planning. Without you, we wouldn’t have this awesome product to share.

A wedding show in review

the aislewalk team attended the annual BrockHouse wedding Show this Sunday. We’re always on the scene, checking out all the happenings in the world of weddings so that we can report back to you on all the cool events and awesome vendors and products available.
The show was put on this year by Vancouver based wedding&event planners DreamGroup Productions and the principles Sarah & Geneve did not dissapoint with a classy and well put together show. As always, the culinary team at BrockHouse put on an amazing display of treats for attendants and the fashion show offered many unique dress options. There was variety of vendors there for couples to chat with and the atmosphere seemed relaxed. Although we did not get a close up of the goodie bags that the couples received, we certainly didn’t hear any complaints. At times we found it a little difficult to move around the venue as it seems that many engaged couples opted to atttend this year’s event but we heard from one of the vendors that there was actually three sperate show times and that the middle showtime actually seemed a little less busy….note to couples for next year!!!

All in all, we were super impressed with the show and will be adding it to our list of wedding must do’s.

City Exposure

Take a look for the current issue of Vancouver View Magazine. Cover and Kits feature images are the work of aislewalk photographer Erin Gilmore. The cover and Kits feature are about none other than aislewalk florist Thomas Hobbs whos amazing floral designs provided the inspiration for the images.
