I was lucky to have found this amazing body line from Barefoot Venus and it has quickly become one of my favorite things! A flirtatiously feminine floral with a kiss of sweet pea and finished with a sprinkle of soft powder. A fragrance that says, I like all things pretty! Find it at www.barefootvenus.com

Wedding Maps!

Wedding maps are such a gift to out of town guests. I went to a wedding one time that was across the country, booked my hotel, and after the reception had a $50 cab ride back to my hotel due to not knowing how far I actually was from the wedding locations. This was very frustrating for me, and navigating a new city can make anyone a bit nervous. So more and more brides are including wedding maps with their invitations, and/or wedding websites. So far the only way to create one is either to go to a site like google maps for a map that is too technical looking, draw a crude one yourself, or hire a designer/illustrator to create a beautiful custom one for you. Well I found a great site www.weddingmapper.com that lets you create maps for all your wedding locations online. You simply type in your area (Vancouver BC) then provide the names of each of your wedding locations. For example on my map below I chose Stanley Park Chapel and Terminal City Club for the ceremony and reception. The website automatically found both sites, and placed cute icons (there are several to choose from) to show guests where they are located. I even added a hotel location and the Airport. After you take a few minutes to create your map, you can then email it, print it, or place it on your website. Click on the link below to view the one we made.

great chocolates!

So I happen to go to the circle craft christmas market this year. I love to see all the great small businesses and because I belive that inspiration can come from anything, this show is choc full of just that. There is fashion, christmas decor and of course great food. So I came across this little booth where they were giving away chocolate samples. After I tried a piece (and it was incredible) I noticed that they had a unique collection of chocolates called the masterpeice collection with beautifull little illustrations on them. Including a cherry blossom which is a hot theme this year carrying over from last year.

Anyhow, they also have great little favor gift boxes for weddings, and are open to custom work. Check out this great company if you really want chocolate favors, but with a modern twist. www.chocolatas.com

perfect product ~ posh wed pod

Engaged couples in Vancouver have less time to plan due to busy schedules, making it difficult to meet potential vendors. In response, aislewalk vendor Marliss Productions recently unveiled the Posh Wedding Video Podcast a free online bridal resource where couples watch vignettes, essentially meeting the vendors, viewing their services and can even ask for advice. Couples will be able to see hot new fashion trends for 2007, get expert make-up advice, décor ideas and much more. They will also get tips on how to prepare themselves for a consultation with a vendor making sure they know what questions to ask and what to be on the look out for.
Now, couples can view vendor’s webcasts in the comfort of their own home. They can also view podcasts by uploading the movie file onto their video iPods and watch it on the go. Now couples can enjoy planning by connecting to a resource based on the familiar television network platform in an aesthetically pleasing environment. Congrats to Marliss who won the aislewalk award for Best New Product.

perfect product

As mentioned in an earlier post, the aislewalk team will be on the lookout for cool products and will be conducting reviews throughout the year to assist brides in getting their hands on the coolest stuff! Our first product is the PHOTO BOOTH. We are thrilled to be the first to have experienced the vintage photo booth by Auto Photo at our recent soiree. This thing is amazing! It was the hit of the party and brides in Vancouver now have the ability to get one here rather than from back east or from the US. The rental starts at around $1600. I had seen on a lot of forums that brides were at a loss trying to find one here….well girls…we found it for you! I would book early as I am sure it will be a hot item for 2007.
